Update-/Upgrade-Service Photo 35

EGIS twin axis positioning systems are equipped respectively with an operating program, which is anchored permanently in a permanent memory (Firmware).

This permanent memory (EPROMs) can be swapped largely without any soldering works.

The main distinction characteristics are the different types of microprocessors and the electronic hardware used.

All systems, that actively are operating with the microprocessor "8085 with 4 MHz clock", are using the software version numbers V3xxx; V4xxx; V5xxx, and V6xxx.
When using the microprocessors "8085 with 11 MHz clock" all EPROMs are marked with V7xxx.

All the systems, where you can find the version number in memory 99, are supported and updated by newer, partial up-to-date software releases.

The systems presently delivered are operating with the microprocessor "TMP96C141" and firmware V8xxx.

The current respectively latest firmeware versions are V3002; V3000-90; V5015; V6006; V7039; V7234; V8040; V8207 and V8355.

Title to and including version V7xxx all data are stored in a single EPROM. From off V8xxx two devices are used.

All EPROMs are mounted onto sockets and hence are to be replaced easily.
Attention: When replacing pay attention on C-MOS rules!

This software/firmware-update/upgrade is not only containing corrections of errors and – if necessary – the latest satellite data but also often offers functional improvements and extensions too.

This update/upgrade-set will cost EUR 198.00 and is including the upgrade manual an the latest satellite listing – if necessary.

Electronical and mechanical upgrades and extensions:

Especially the long-term users of EGIS positioning systems will like to participate with improved features and comfort, without buying a new rig. Because of the long lifetime obviously achieved by EGIS installations additional mechanical as well as electrical retrofitting is worth while in most cases. Even if the installation is some years old.

Extended angles of rotation (as well as in azimuth as in elevation) can be retrofitted.

Even most simple and old installations can be updated onto the latest technical state of the art used in current EGIS configurations.

We would be pleased to tell you more about.
